Finding Birds in
Guilford County
© 2018 Dennis Burnette
Note for the 2018 edition: The features of some of the birding sites included here were described in the first edition of “Finding Birds in Guilford County” in 2003. In addition to sites listed in the first edition, many more good birding locations have been added as parks and nature preserves have been developed. However, as would be expected in the ensuing years, the landscape has changed and some conditions are different. This includes roadways as well as conditions in the sites themselves. As an example, at the time of this writing many roads in Greensboro and Guilford County are being rerouted or otherwise changed to accommodate new Interstate highways and an urban loop. Directions and other site information are believed to be correct at the time of this writing, but changes will continue. In the future, if you are visiting a site for the first time or after a long absence, you may find things to differ from the written description.
