Description
Keeley Park primarily is a recreation park featuring picnic shelters, fishing ponds, playgrounds, a spraygound, restrooms, bathhouses, and a concession stand. Birders usually concentrate on the trails and woodland edges. There is a large meadow (that one day is slated to become an athletic field) that also can be birdy. The area around the fishing ponds can be good.
Weekends in the warm season can be crowded. (Currently, the popular sprayground is open May 25 until September 4.) Consequently, a weekday visit in the warm season and fall and winter months might be better for birding. A walk around the ponds can be productive. Watch the pond edges as well as the surrounding trees. Also check the large grassy areas elsewhere in the park.

Although nothing unusual has been reported from Keeley Park, most of the expected Piedmont species can be found here. Keep in mind that this is a relatively new park that has not attracted many birders yet, so it might be possible to be the person who finds something really good!
