Social Activities

Many fine friendships have been forged in the Piedmont Bird Club and sometimes we just like to get together—minus the hiking boots and field guides. In addition to a half-hour of social time before each monthly program, we have scheduled several opportunities throughout the year to relax and enjoy one another's company.

Fall Picnic - early September
Spring Picnic - mid May
It’s always a pleasure to share a meal with friends – and even better when those friends happen to be great cooks. The spring and fall potluck picnics provide us the opportunity to eat well, enjoy the company of friends, and become better acquainted with new or potential club members. Everyone brings a dish to share; PBC provides beverages and tableware. The meal is preceded by a short bird walk.

Holiday Dinner and Members’ Photo Show
Good food, good company, good photos, … and PRESENTS!  What a fine way to celebrate the holidays with birding friends. PBC members and their guests always look forward to the annual Holiday Dinner, held in early December, where they are treated to a catered dinner, a photo show of club members’ finest nature photographs, party favors, and door prizes for everyone. Advance reservations required.
