SPECIES LIST

ABOUT THIS LIST

This list of birds Includes all the species on the Guilford County, NC checklist plus many others we frequently encounter on PBC field trips to the coast, the mountains, and other places in the Carolinas. Much of the information for these species, particularly the ones found in Guilford County, was compiled by Ornithologist Herb Hendrickson for the Piedmont Bird Club.

This is a work in progress. The birds in blue have links to their respective pages. As members contribute photos of birds, we will add pages for those species. Some pages also have text information following the photos, and that material will be added as we develop it. Factual material about various species of birds has been compiled by members of the education committee. If you are interested in contributing pictures, or have comments or criticism, please contact Louise Brown at piedmontbirder@triad.rr.com
